Those scheduled for appearances in Ashe County’s district court to plead their case Feb. 8 included Veronica M. Bishop, Robert Blevins, Randall W. Cox, Joseph D. Eller, Daniel L. Goodman, Joshua A. Royal and Donnie Turnmire.

Bishop, 39, of West Jefferson, was arrested Jan. 23 on two charges of felony financial card fraud. Bishop pled guilty to both counts, and they were consolidated. She was sentenced to 4-14 months in the Department of Adult Corrections suspended 18 months for supervised probation.

Blevins, 46, of Lansing, who was arrested on Nov. 2 was charged with one count of assault by pointing a gun, three counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine, three counts of selling methamphetamine, three counts of delivering methamphetamine, one count of felony maintaining a vehicle dwelling place controlled substance, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of possession of methamphetamine, one count of possession of a firearm by a felon and one count of felony possession of schedule II controlled substance. Blevins’ case was continued to March 22.

Cox, 42, of Creston, was charged on June 16 with possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance, felony maintain vehicle dwelling place with controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse. Cox’s case was continued to Feb. 22.

Eller, 36, of Independence, Va., was arrested Dec. 9 on charges of assault on a female and assault on a child under 12. His case was continued to March 8.

Goodman, 32, of West Jefferson, was charged on May 20 and June 11 with two counts of speeding, three counts of driving while license revoked not impaired, four counts of driving while license revoked impaired, two counts of felony flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, aggressive driving, failure to heed light or siren, expired registration card or tag, three counts of expired/no inspection, operating a vehicle with no insurance, hit and run failure to stop property damage, no registration, failure to yield a stop sign or flashing red light, three counts of failure to stop at a stop sign or flashing red light, failure to stop steady at a red light, possession of an open container of alcohol in the passenger area, motorcycle/moped helmet/passenger and driving while impaired. Goodman’s case was continued to Feb. 15.

Royal, 34, of Jefferson, who was arrested on Aug. 30 and Nov. 1 on charges of possession of marijuana paraphernalia, misdemeanor simple possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of stolen goods and/or property, misdemeanor larceny, two counts of felony larceny, felony breaking and or entering and larceny after breaking and entering. Royal’s case was continued to March 29.

Turnmire, 41, of Todd, was arrested on Nov. 5 and charged with assault on a female, first degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation and assault inflict serious injury. Turnmire’s case was continued to Feb. 22.
