The following information was provided by the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Feb. 3

David Fitzpatrick, 53, of Todd, was charged with driving while impaired. Fitzpatrick was released Feb. 3 under a written promise.

Sandra K. Taylor, 52, of Laurel Springs, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana up to half an ounce. Taylor was released Feb. 3 under a $2,500 appeal bond and a $2,500 secured bond.

Russell D. Craven, 59, of Jefferson, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a place with controlled substance, dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Craven was released Feb. 4 under a $25,000 secured bond and a $750 secured bond.

Feb. 5

Randall S. Hayes, 40, of Crumpler, was charged with two counts of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Hayes was released Feb. 5.

Mika N. Elliott, 32, of West Jefferson, was charged with operating a vehicle with no insurance and expired registration, car or tag. Elliott was released Feb. 5 under a $1,000 secured bond.

Amanda E. Smith, 35, of West Jefferson, was charged with driving while impaired. Smith was released Feb. 5 under a written promise.

Feb. 6

Grant A. Hopkins, 75, of West Jefferson, was charged with simple assault. Hopkins was released Feb. 7 under a $1,500 secured bond.

Feb. 7

William C. Bass, 32, of Warrensville, was charged with misdemeanor larceny. Bass was released Feb. 8 under a $500 secured bond.

Randall S. Hayes, 40, of Crumpler, was charged with three counts of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Hayes is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $35,000 secured bond.

Jonathan D. Weaver, 30, of Crumpler, was charged with six counts of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Weaver was released Feb. 7 under a $750 secured bond.

Steven W. Matkins, 27, of West Jefferson, was charged with non IV-D non-support child. Matkins is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $680 cash bond.

Jason K. Lomboy, 19, of Lansing, was charged with driving while impaired, no operators license, reckless driving to endanger, operating a vehicle with no insurance and drive allow motor vehicle no registration. Lomboy is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.

Feb. 8

Michael J. Taylor, 44, of Jefferson, was charged with shoplifting concealment goods. Taylor was released Feb. 8 under a $707.50 cash bond.

Feb. 9

Gregory A. R. Wellington, 45, of West Jefferson, was charged with failure to appear on misdemeanor. Wellington is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.
